The REACTv™ Sub Drilling Assurance System

With decades of drilling experience in the oil and gas industry, Geopro Limited has become a leading solutions provider. The  REACTv™ Sub, the commercial name for the MRS STAR concept, is a unique drilling solution. The acronym was coined at Geopro's office at the Surrey Research Park in Guildford, Surrey, United Kingdom and it stands for:

1. MRS - Motorised Reamer System
2. STAR - Stabilized Accentuated Reamer 

 It combines the smoothness of a seamless unit with the brute force of a mud motor power unit to deliver torque where needed to provide the drilling crew with a variety of benefits.

The  REACTv™ Sub was initially conceived in 2011 as a solution to high torque responses encountered when pulling BHA through tight spots in ERD wells in the Arctic. Such a solution would have enabled the prevention of unnecessary trips, back reaming and improved borehole conditions and hole cleaning. 

The  REACTv™ Sub is a drilling optimisation and assurance system with significant advantageous impact on drilling operations.

1. Multi-lobe 1.5 - 3.0 stage mud motor power section with balanced bearings at both ends
2. The bladed stator rotates around the rotor which is further coupled to the rest of the drill string
3. Multiple tools can be run on the same drill string
4. Can be configured with a bicentric extrusion to slightly under-ream drilled hole
5. Reduces hole rugosity, micro doglegs, micro tortuosity and cuttings bed build-up
6. Eliminates the need for multiple tools in a single string
7. Reduces drill string torque, need for excessive wiper trips and back-reaming.
8. Reduces drill string vibrations  and stick and slip tendencies
9. Replaces the top stabilizer on a motor BHA thus making sliding in difficult formations a lot easier
10. Ensures proper weight transfer to the bit
11. Reduces the occurrence of stuck pipe events.
